He lived life to the fullest every day and had a way of making those around him just plain feel good. Donnie had many passions in life, but none was greater than that of baseball. His natural talent really blossomed around the age of twelve and there was no disputing how good he was. As a younger brother, you might think that there was an opportunity for jealousy. But nothing was further from the truth. I was a huge fan of my brother and was in awe just watching him play. In the weeks just prior to his death, Donnie's team won the Georgia championship for church softball. Donnie had friends from all walks of life in many communities in the middle Georgia area.
