Donnie and I dated a couple of times, but we were really good friends. One night we were mud riding off Fairplay hill Rd. and we got stuck. Donnie had to go explain to my parents why I was getting home at 2:00 in the morning. Being the charmer that Donnie was everything was fine. |

We were your next door neighbors, and I will never ever forget that tragic night as someone pulled in my driveway to tell me the house next door was on fire. I immediately dialed your number and got a busy signal. I called the fire department and we rushed over to see what we could do. You had a wonderful family and although we did not have much time together, I will always cherish your loving mother. She was such a good friend and we often took walks together in the summertime. She was so easy to talk to. My mother cherished her friendship with Mary as well. I lost my Mom 2 years ago today. Our thoughts and prayers are with each of you. |

I knew Donnie in high school. He was such a fun person to be around, and always very funny!! He could always make you laugh. He used to call me "Bookie". I remember one day, him, Dexter Askins, Nathan Joyner, and I can't remember who else., decided to skip school and ride down to my house where my grandmother was. All of my friends loved her cause she would sit around and drink her beer and smoke her cigarettes and loved talking to all of us! They all thought she was so cool and they all called her granny too. Anyways, they came down to my house to see my granny and stayed all afternoon talking to her. She always talked about Donnie and how cute he was. She really liked him alot. We all did and we still miss him.

I also remember Donnie being an awesome baseball and softball player. I remember one time, my friend Joy Thames and I went to see him play in a tournament in Macon.
He was always crazy about Joy, and her being the one playing "hard to get", I remember he hit a homerun at the tournament and gave her the ball and signed "I hope to hit a homerun with you". I thought that was the sweetest thing! He was such the flirt!! What a great guy he was though. He always had a heart of gold for others. They did end up dating and I rememebr she took it really hard when he died and it took her a long time to get over him. I don't think she really ever did. |

I KNEW DONNIE WHEN HE DIED. WE WAS TOGETHER THE NIGHT HE DIED. SEE HE WAS GOING WITH MY SISTER(LISA DINGLER). AFTER A FUN NIGHT AT THE SQUARE AND CIRCLE AND JUST RIDING AROUND ME AND LISA PUT HIM OUT AT HIS HOUSE. NEEDLESS TO SAY WE DIDN'T KNOW THAT WOULD BE THE LAST TIME WE WOULD SEE HIM... IT REALLY HIT LISA HARD, DEEP DOWN I THINK HIM AND LISA WOULD HAVE GOTTEN MARRIED. HE WAS EXCITED ABOUT GOING IN THE SERVICE, BUT ALSO HE WANTED THE RELATIONSHIP TO LAST WITH MY SISTER. WHEN GOD TOOK DONNIE FROM US HE HAD HIS REASONS, BUT REST ASSURED SOME OF US WILL SEE HIM AGAIN SOMEDAY.. I STILL VISIT HIS GRAVE TODAY...REST IN PEACE MY FRIEND.. LOVE,LYNN |
